The Red History Museum, through Majeutika d.o.o., is one of six recipients of funding awarded under the European project PHOENIX 4.0, implemented by the Dubrovnik Development Agency (DURA).
The project MICROSCAPE – A Pilot Micro Cultural Tourism Network introduces a new model of cultural tourism that connects Dubrovnik’s local artistic and creative scene, cultural production, and visitors.
At the heart of the project is the idea of establishing a network of small-scale cultural spaces and initiatives that will encourage visitors to discover Dubrovnik beyond its most familiar tourist attractions.
MICROSCAPE will combine a physical micro-cultural space with a digital platform featuring information about local artists, designers, craftspeople, and independent cultural initiatives. By mapping the local creative scene, organising exhibitions and other cultural activities, and providing digital access to cultural content, the project aims to increase the visibility of local creatives and develop authentic cultural experiences.
The project’s main objective is to introduce visitors to contemporary local cultural production, encourage them to explore lesser-known parts of the city, and contribute to a more sustainable and diverse tourism model.
The project is led by Majeutika d.o.o., in partnership with Art Workshop Lazareti, Stay in Dubrovnik d.o.o., and Matija Jašarov from Slovenia.
The project runs from 1 July 2026 to 31 March 2027, with financial support from the Dubrovnik Development Agency (DURA) through the PHOENIX 4.0 project.
MICROSCAPE reflects the Red History Museum’s ongoing commitment to contributing to Dubrovnik’s contemporary cultural scene beyond its core museum activities, while exploring new ways of connecting culture, the local community, and tourism.
